Social Media Break

Do you ever just feel like you need to take a social media break?

Have you ever taken a social media break? If so, what was your experience?

We all know how prominent social media has become. There are studies about it’s use and affect on users. Just check out this Forbes article “6 Ways Social Media Affects Our Mental Health.” Harvard Business Review has an article titles “A New, More Rigorous Study Confirms: The More You Use Facebook, the Worse You Feel.”

My social media break isn’t because of what these article say, although they are interesting and worth reading and make some valid points. My social media break comes in a series of things I am doing to make positive changes for myself. You may recall my recent post about starting yoga, you can read it here Yoga is changing me. The changes that I have been making are really helping get me where I want to be.

Self reflection is a wonderful and powerful thing. I am one of those souls who is always evolving, or at least attempting to. Change and grow, change and grow, grow and change. Change is the one constant in life. I find it so much easier not to resist it, to just go with it. I know my life is so much better because of this.

Social Media takes up way too much of my time right now. It hasn’t always been this way. Right now I feel like I am in a lull and social media has been and easy go to. So my big change for the month of February is to stay clear of social media.
